Kid-isms
As with most parents that we know, we absolutely refuse to correct our kids and their mispronunciations because seriously, it’s the cutest thing.
While riding in the backseat, our 3-year old asks mom “Can you turn off my air fence? I’m cold.” We assume she meant “air vents” but the imagery of an air fence is just fun.
When she creates something with legos or play-doh, she will say “Come look at my comp-a-ration.” No idea what the real word is but in our minds, it must mean a creation of hers.
Quotes and Sayings
Our kids deserve to be exposed to good books and even one of the masters of writing really good literature for kids and adults agrees.
“No book is really worth reading at the age of ten which is not equally – and often far more – worth reading at the age of fifty and beyond.” C.S. Lewis
Video Worth Watching
Shooting the Everlasting Storm from Great Big Story
These “Around the Nut House & Beyond” posts contain a collection of tidbit-sized things from around our Nut House and elsewhere that catch our attention. These might be funny things that the kids say, a quote that we like, a video that strikes our fancy or even articles and sites that are worthwhile. These things are not necessarily suited to a full-length post but are still worth a mention. Plus as an added bonus, it will help us remember some of these things that might otherwise disappear into the past.
